Carl has had 2 surgeries on his left knee, last week he went in for his 3rd surgery this time on his right knee, he is healing & we are looking forward to him being happy & healthy on his back end this spring!

well our poor baby was rushed into emergency surgery to revise his previous knee surgery, good news is after 4weeks recovery we think he is on the mend, unfortunately his other knee will also need a surgery come 2012, poor chubb chubb

As many of you already know, Carl has been fighting the battle of the 'bulge'

He was down from 36lbs to 33.8lbs in 3 months but his weak back end & his weight finally paid a toll on his left knee

Yesterday while sitting on the porch, he saw a squirrel & descided to chase it, he went about 40ft & yelled out in pain, he was 3 legged from that moment on

I took him to vet ER ASAP, got pain med's but he was still in pain, so first thing in AM we rushed him to Blue Pearl in Northbrook & without hesitation descided to hand our precious Chub Chub to surgeons

Well the worked on his knee socket, repaired his completely torn ACL & did some other houskeeping on that knee, he is still in Hospital today, but he is doing well & eating (of course!)

We pick him up today after work. Now we have 6 wks of keeping him quiet & not licking his incision...

Well it's always bitter sweet, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful sweet loving house guests & wish them luck in their new lives, I get choked up just saying that, as hard as I try, I get attached, we clean their poops & pees hour after hour & I get in their pen with them 3 times a day to give them my Foster Momma love but always experience incredible joy & love from them, these sweet innocent creatures, no matter the breed, they all give love unconditionally, an undescribable feeling, without fear & judgement....I love dogs

Well after 3 days of really trying to get Oprah to put weight on, she is starting to eat a little more, she has descided she likes lamb lung over chicken!

Well our 4 foster pups have been away fighting for their little young lives, they have beat Parvo & are almost over an upper respiratory infection, we almost lost Oprah, but thanks to Lesley the founder of Animal House Shelter, the puppies are going to be happy, healthy dogs & make great companions.

Well, the puppy's stayed with us 1 week, they were so happy & healthy, but after 4 days they started to act sad & sleepy, Animal House Shelter immediately began fluid treatments & electrolites, Oprah was the sickest, they have been battling hard & we pray everyday for the pups to get better.

I have been really struck lately with how many people are not aware of Pure Breed Rescues

Yes.....there are hundreds of thousands of puppies, pure breeds, that are unwanted. Many of them are just baby pups that were a surprise litter from unresponsible dog owners that didn't fix their dogs

How to find them? Simple.....Go to Petfinder.com  (see logo to the right on this page)

Once on their site, just type in breed, gender & age you are looking for, and many RESCUE for that breed will pop up, if you put in your zip code, you will see many of the rescues are closer than 'breeders'

Lets all be part of the solution to over population, give RESCUES a chance, stop shopping for a dog, rescue today

Well, our Mom descided to help 9, yes 9...puppies that lost their mamma & were homeless, we agreed to it! I, Cody really like being in charge of them, on the other hand carl doesn't acknowledge them, he has even gotten sulky, Hope, my sister is ticked off, she will not even follow mom to see them.....

These pups will be available for adoption in Mid-November when they are older & have had all their shots, ouch!
